There’s always something special happening!
This past Saturday, my eldest, turned 18. Yes. Young Adult status, in South Africa at least.
We made our way to our favorite local holiday spot, Knysna, for a short but extremely special weekend to commemorate this milestone birthday 🥳
Trishara has been a Knysna fan since she was about three months old… and we’ve kept going back, many a time through all these years.
So going back now was just the perfect getaway. Recapping old memories and making new ones!
We’ve seen many avatars of Knysna weather, but this time, it was almost sublime, just the right cocktail of warmth and the cool summer breeze to set the days alight, with fun, laughter, and frolic.
From the morning spent in her favorite market in Sedgefield, to an early afternoon bathing in glorious sunshine watching school water polo, it was almost heavenly.
The highlight, a dinner sunset cruise aboard her favorite vessel, The PaddleCruiser felt just right.
We’ve been on this same vessel year on year, she loves the water, the air, the breeze as it plays through her hair, not to mention the beautiful food on board. Yum.
So there it is, folks, a new world like I began reflecting on, is here.
It feels the same, like yesterday, but still, it’s different, it’s going to be so different.
Now, as I lay back on my couch, Sunday late evening, I’m smiling, from ear to ear. Life’s good, it’s so good.
