Wow, it’s the second week of December already! We find ourselves in the throes of yet another wave of Covid-19 and yet somehow the call to festivities that commemorate year-end still beckon. Not to mention, the Christmas shopping and treat rituals we’re attempting are still in parallel.
As we look forward in the Southern Hemisphere to our annual summer vacation, despite the festivities, I hope that you all find, some time, to rest, rejuvenate and exhale, as 2021 draws to a close.
I‘m finding myself in a scuffle to close off priorities that still linger, but at the same time, I‘ve welcomed the end of the school term with enormous glee.
The kids have completed another extremely successful academic year, and I could not be more proud of them both❤️❤️
I’ve begun relishing a bit later mornings, breakfasts together, the laughter, and yes, trying to balance who gets the chocolate each day, from our Advent calendar. Note to self, next year, two Advent calendars.
As you can guess, my descent for 2021 is in full swing. There’s always another request here and there for another special poem, that I’ve obliged, but for the most part, I’m looking forward to a break from blogging and poetry writing from mid-December to mid-January 2022😁
I‘m looking forward to a short break, to reignite some of my creative juices, and begin 2022, with new vigor and dreams.
Still, there’s another week to go! I’ve had to write, on special. request, a poem for a very special team this past week. This will not be utilized for publication, but I’ve adapted it, as I saw the mountaineering analogy apt for us all. I hope you don’t mind, Deshun Deysel❤️
So here’s the adapted version of “As we descend“ for you all.
I wish you all a safe, festive week ahead.
❤️
