Yep, so here I am, awake and ready after a tough day ” at the virtual office” but still energized to complete the final blog for 2021.
There’s so much stillness abound, wow, it’s one of my best times to write poems actually.
As I cast my mind back to just before Easter this year, where this creative journey all began, it was just meant as a humble cup of coffee, launching the “go live” of my website, and that was it, really. Simple. At my pace, In my own time.
I guess there were other plans. Now there’s a brand, thanks to Current Consulting, there’s a following, almost 800 to date… would have never dreamt of it!
Perhaps there’s my first lesson, listen, just listen to that inner voice, there’s much wisdom here.
I’m eternally grateful to every single person out there, who takes the time, to read my almost weekly ramblings, to come to my poetry mornings, and support all that pralenepoetrry is about.
This year that shown me that poetry is still relevant in this day, in this age, more than ever.
My own personal style, yes, there is one, is that of reflective poetry, words simple words that provide a mirror of past, yet set the tone for the future.
I’m extremely grateful to everyone who has been part of the journey this far, we have still a long way to walk together still.
This week’s highlight was Tayla Braaf and her willingness to represent me and pralenepoetry at the TC Model Management Extravaganza. Sure, there’s a poem this week, it’s called “Here“. It’s dedicated to Chantal Pillay and the Team at TC Model Management.
We’re absolutely humbled and delighted that these words give voice to the extraordinary work that you do, and we could not be more pleased to be part of the event this week.
Perhaps there’s a second lesson here. I’ve found that words can give a voice, to an individual, to a collective, it can serve as a reflective mirror, it can set a tone, a vibration, but most of all, it can serve…self, others & community ❤️
After a year of so many highlights and learning, it is time to take a short break now. The writing never stops, so, I’m hoping to come back in 2022, with renewed vigor, with new material, it’s only onwards and upwards from here.
As we wind down, we wish you all a blessed and safe festive season and a wonderful start into the New Year!
❤️
