As I usher in the second week of Women’s month, it’s time to pay tribute, to Current Consulting.
They’re a tribe of insanely passionate woman, living in their creative element, and bringing it together, actively, daily within this collective.
I met Bonnie Currin, last week, self proclaimed Marketing Whizz, over coffee, to spill the beans, on her thriving company, in East London. I was really curious as to how it all began, and of course, as they celebrate their 6th Birthday, their future dreams.
I figured out that Bonnie, has had a colorful life, in the corporate space, and now as an influential entrepreneur in East London. As she reflected on the journey of Current Consulting throughout the six years, I had to make copius notes, to recall this wonderful journey to date.
I discovered that Current Consulting was born, whilst on two runs, first through Cape St. Francis and secondly through Alexandria Trails, just outside, the former Port Elizabeth, now known as Gqeberha. Bonnie and her friends had conceptualised the company, and it’s values, whilst running. A new perspective on brainstorming and ideation, I’d reckon.
Thanks to familiar colleagues, family, friends, and a bulging network, Current Consulting has evolved year after year, to be recognized, as one of the leading marketing and social media companies, in East London.
Bonnie reflected on the time during lockdown last year, where the team, had to work from home, over a long period of time. She recalled, how this was indeed a catalyst and furthermore a growing, learning, maturing experience for her and her team.
It propelled them, to reach for even greater heights, stand together, work together and build a brand together. The pandemic and Lockdown has served this team well.
As they commemorate their six-year journey, all that is left is to pay homepage to the Current Crew, wish them well, and know, the best is yet to come.
As Obama, turned 60, this past week, I’m reminded of his quote on success,
“Success isn’t about how much money you make, it’s about the difference you make in people’s lives.”
For Bonnie and her team, the future lies, in taking active responsibility to learn, to try, to excel, to work from deep sensing Into their client’s needs, and turning on the ‘magic’, whilst having loads of fun.
