Easter time this year has been a whirlwind. I hope that for all of you out there, it was filled with rest, peace, joy, and precious moments with family and friends.

Good Friday Eve spelled a glorious morning spent with family and close friends at the formal Launch of this poetry site. My first poem out loud, I see the future me“, watch this space, there’s more to come.

The Friday sunrise sparked our first holiday since the last year and what better place for a few days of R&R but Knysna, one of my all-time favourite places ❤️

Once we arrived, we discovered that one of our best hangout spots, Caffe’ Mario had moved but nothing like having a teenager close at your side, with a mobile in hand, within seconds, she discovered their new location.

Once we arrived, we were greeted by familiar faces and smiles, and delicious food, in our case, pizza, (with vegan cheese) soon graced our tables.

Whilst we were ravenous, our eyes caught the sight of a Poster, “Better Live Awesome Easter”, and a quick flicker later, we discovered ‚gold‘, the Parlotones were in town.

Yippee!

Or it could have been the Liquid Lemon Gold Limoncello that I found,

Yippee X2.

Now to figure out if there were tickets still available? Covid protocols? So many questions? Family-friendly?

Long story, short …(as one of my best friends says)… one phone call on Saturday, a short drive, and problem solved, we were going to go to our first concert since 2019. Hooray!

A chance encounter with Glen Hodgson, before the concert (yep, I did not know who he was 🤓…where’s my teenager when I need her…) He was really sweet, cos‘ I spotted an ‚Aum’ or ‚Om’ on his hand (this symbol is so precious to me, another time – another story…)

Glen was humble, simple, down-to-earth, peaceful…a real gem! And later so was Kahn, so much time and energy for their fans, cool stuff indeed.

As with most people that leave an impression on me, I inked Glen a poem, while perched on our patio, enjoying a good cuppa the next morning… Military Monk.

But I suppose the real highlight, was for my daughter, Trishara, and her meeting with Neil Pauw, drummer for the Parlotones, the photo herewith sums it all up… pure energy, pure ❤️. Thanks, Neil, now I’m at least off the hook, at least for a couple of months, before I can conjure up the next adventure.

By the way, the concert, ROCKED Knysna…Amazing stuff! Thank you The Parlotones Thank You Jackie @ Better Live

All in all, a wonderful break, unplanned exploits, enough to recharge, recalibrate and reflect.

I wish you all a wonderful short week, for those of you still on holiday, Enjoy and safe travels.

❤️
