It’s a first. I began blogging on Sunday morning, deleted it, restarted, and deleted it again.

So here I am, it’s 4.30 am Thursday morning, it’s quiet, it’s still, the household is still asleep.

I prance about and find my way to my living space, it’s dark still, I dim the light, and light my favorite vanilla candle.

As these soft notes of vanilla, waft through the air, I reckon, if I should reach for the morning coffee, but my brain decides against it.

So, here’s the at least fourth attempt of the blog 😊

The weekend is but a blurry memory, some good old family time, and then there was Vincent Park Fashion Week. This was fun, I enjoyed a marvel evening with ardent friends and fans of pralenepoetry, and the talented crew at TC Model Management.

A unique event for East London, and I hope the start of many more to come.

Our gratitude once again to Chantal Pillay, from TC Model Management for having us, and allowing us to do the best we do…spreading the love ❤️

We were mesmerized to meet Ntando, you’ll see the poem published earlier this week on our platforms 😊

But in the early morning air, or is it, now, the heady scent of my lonesome vanilla candle, I reflect on this free space, right now. The calmness, before the morning school and work hustle…the signing of the homework diary, the additional snack or sandwich at a moment’s notice, and yes, that ever favorite cup of that sweet rooibos tea, my Nirvaan enjoys 😊

No, for now, it’s just this ‘free as a bird’ space…the stillness is breathtaking, cajoling, peaceful.

It reminds me of a poem I conjured up on the weekend sometime, ‘Like a kite’, it’s here for you, read, reflect and enjoy.

The year is still young, almost two months down, and yet, the requests for poetry, are flooding in, some private, some public, details follow soon, if I’m allowed 😉

I think I’ll leave it here, I hope you find times to be “free”, in your space, as you find it! Now to reach for my coffee,

❤️
