I’ve been quiet the last weeks… an overflowing corporate calendar and much-needed self-care time, are my only reasons for staying away.

However this week signals a little comeback, so to speak. We’ve been working behind the scenes crafting a new look website, here’s the link, with some new additions, so be sure to check it out.

We’ve had a growing following over the last year, and a flurry of special requests for poems. The webpage now includes a formal touchpoint for these requests, so I’m looking forward to this with anticipation and excitement!

One poem to look out for in the next weeks is an ode to mothers…I’m looking forward to getting stuck in…

There’s much frivolity in the air this week, for our brand. I’ve been working alongside a fabulous, mostly invisible team, led by my friend, colleague and mentor, Hylton Gudmanz.

We met a little over a year ago, his musical talent, and my poetic musings, as I call them, have resulted in a song…yes a song. It’s entitled, ‘Lost’.

I wrote the poem, now a song, during Lockdown, it was really inspired by a generation, a society that was extremely lost at the time, at least my contribution was to pen an individual experience.

We’ll share the link to the song soon…Enjoy 😊 I’m amazed by the result and look forward to creating more ‘poems’ I mean ‘songs’, in the near future.

As I find myself on the brink of yet another birthday 🥳, I’m really grateful for another year, blissful and learning life experiences that have shaped another year of life. I’m surrounded by family, friends and some guardian angels, who are really part of my tribe, my clan…

Today, in this spirit, I celebrate 🎉 Babsi Mcinga, corporate guru, writer and director…Babsi asked me to write a poetic introduction for an upcoming event. I could not resist.

So here’s this week’s poem, aptly entitled, “Babsi“.

Watch this blog space in weeks to come, more about Babsi, more about pralenepoetry.

I wish you all, a fabulous short week, and hope you can take advantage of this long weekend coming up.
