This coming week marks a very personal anniversary, I was diagnosed with Covid-19 positive on the 12th of September 2020.
Over three months, my body, was ravaged by this illness, and I’m one of the lucky ones, still here, still breathing, still living my best life, every single day.
Gratitude, only gratitude.
Three months, you make ask? Yes, my journey through this illness was riddled.
After the first 21 days, I overcame all the initial symptoms, the fever, the loss of taste and smell, the days when all energy, left my body, and I was reduced to a crumpled heap on my couch, or my bed, whichever I found, the closest place to crash, when my legs could not hold me.
But there were some constants that got me through, my kids, who video called every day, so I could see their faces and take in their smiles, friends who came to the door with food and groceries, family too.
Through this, there was one special friend, for purposes of this blog, let’s call him, A.
He called every single day, morning, sometimes noon, sometimes night. Sometimes all three. He was there. He was my morning alarm, to wake up, get coffee in 5 or 10 minutes.
He was the reason, I found myself on my porch, in the garden, breathing in the fresh air, and walking at my own pace, or sitting on a chair, as the sunshine penetrated my pores.
Some days, were tough, others were better.
I had no recollection of the coffee flavor, all I could taste, was warm, black liquid, as it warmed my heart, warmed my soul.
With coffee, came these Stirling conversations, that lifted my spirit, lifted my heart, gave me strength, gave me courage.
For this, I’m eternally grateful, A🙏🏼
I wish you only the best that life has to offer, many warm blessings, now and always.
My, poem, ‘Coffee with A’, is a reflection of this beautiful time.
One year later, life has taken a renewed and refreshed journey, almost feels like, a new life, a new consciousness, there have been so many blessings, so many.
I’ve been crafting in my corporate and my poetry spaces. There are a plethora of colorful adventures, on its way. Bonnie and her precious team @ Current Consulting, are extremely excited to bring these to life, so watch this space for details, over the next while.
I wish you all a safe time, stay blessed and enjoy the spring weather around us 🌸
